2024 World Food Day: Gov Adeleke Reaffirms Commitment to Agricultural Development in Osun State

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has assured residents of his administration’s determination to ensure food sufficiency and affordability in the coming farming season.

Gov. Adeleke said this at an event to mark the 2024 World Food Day in Osogbo, the State capital on Thursday.

The Governor while listing his administration’s milestones and expansion agenda in the State’s agricultural sector, promised a strong base for farm mechanisation including the building of a Technical centre for maintenance of the tractors recently procured to drive mechanised farming in the State.

The Osun State Governor further noted that efforts are in top gear to enhance food production to address rising cost of food items in the market.

Commissioner for Agriculture in the State, Tola Faseru in his remarks noted that youths, women and the physically challenged have been trained in several areas of agribusinesses, including empowerment to the tune of N8.6million each.

The theme for the 2024 World Food Day is “The Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future”.
