Flying Eagles midfielder Auwal Ibrahim was named Man of the Match following the team’s victory over Tunisia.
DAILY POST reports that the seven-time champions began their campaign at the 2025 U-20 Cup of Nations with a narrow 1-0 win against the Young Carthage Eagles.
Ibrahim scored the decisive goal seven minutes before half-time.
The youngster earned his place in the starting line-up after failing to make an appearance for the team during the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Lomé, Togo, last year.
He was substituted by Olalekan Alabi in stoppage time.
The Flying Eagles will next face Morocco in their second Group B fixture at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo on Sunday.
