60-year-old married woman dies in another man’s apartment during visit

A 65-year-old woman identified as Serifatu Disu, 60, tragically passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, December 18, 2024. while visiting the home of another man, Olalekan Ogunjob, 65, in the Ago-Iwoye area of Ogun State. According to the Ogun State Police Command, Disu had gone to Ogunjobi’s residence at Fatima Castle, Konigba, late at night. Around 12:40 a.m., she complained of chest pains and subsequently collapsed.  Despite Ogunjobi’s attempts to administer first aid, Disu lost consciousness and tragically passed away. The Ago-Iwoye Divisional Police Officer was immediately notified and arrived at the scene promptly. Ogunjobi was taken into custody for further questioning as part of the ongoing preliminary investigation by the Crime Branch. The police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that Disu’s body had been transported to the Ijebu-Ode Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy. “We have visited the scene, and the body has been taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, where it will be moved to the mortuary for an autopsy. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” CSP Odutola added. At the time of filing this report, the relationship between the man and the deceased married woman could not be ascertained. This incident follows a similar occurrence on December 3rd, where 22-year-old Joseph Prince was arrested and detained after his 22-year-old girlfriend, Agala Peace, died under mysterious circumstances in the Ota area of the state. Prince was reportedly transporting his ill girlfriend to the hospital when she tragically passed away.
