As part of measures to resolve the lingering crisis in Agatu local government area of Benue State which has led to several killings and displacements, operatives of the joint military operation Whirl Stroke have held a peace meeting with stakeholders from the warring factions.
The peace meeting which held in Makurdi the State Capital reached a couple of resolutions geared towards ending the long years of unrest.

As far back as 2016, a UNHCR Official described Agatu massacre as the worst ever since her history of covering crisis. Years later, the attacks, killings and displacements have continued unabated necessitating the peace meeting brokered by Operation whirlstroke led by the Force Commander with the Director General Benue Peace Commission Josephine Habba leading the conversation.
Representatives from the Agatu side and the cattle rearers in the area then met behind closed doors for several hours after which a communique was issued.
