Renowned Music Record Labels Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Group among others have cancelled all 2025 Grammy related events due to the wildfires in California United States.
Though the Recording Academy; the body that coordinates the annual Grammy awards has decided to go ahead with the planned 67th edition of the ceremony scheduled for Sunday February 2, 2025 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the world’s biggest music companies have taken a decision not to hold a Grammy week party or a pre Grammy party.
This is to honour those who have lost their lives and property in the devastating fire.
The entertainment companies have taken a decision to redirect funds meant for the pre-party to combat the wildfires as well assist those affected by the incident.
The Recording Academy Chief Executive Officer Harvey Mason Jr. and the Chair Board of Trustees of the academy Tammy Hurt in a statement expressed heartfelt sympathy to everyone affected by the inferno; while appreciating the bravery and efforts of first responders who risk their lives to protect others.
“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. This city is our home, and we mourn the loss of life and destruction that have come to it in recent days.”
