A Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital has granted bail to the convener #Revolutionnow movement, Omoyele Sowore to the tune of N10 million and one Surety in like sum.
Justice Musa Liman gave the conditions while ruling on the bail application brought before the trial Court by Counsel to the defendant.
The trial Judge in his ruling held that the Surety must be a responsible individual with a landed property valued in like sum.
Justice Liman also held that the Surety is expected to deposited the original documents of landed property and a passport photograph to the Registrar of the cyourt, while ordering Sowore to deposit his international passport with the Registrar of the Court.
The Court however gave Sowore 24 hours to perfect the bail conditions or be remanded in Police custody till his bail is perfected.

This ruling is coming almost 24 hours after Sowore pleaded not guilty to the 16-count charge on cybercrime preferred against him by the Nigerian Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Justice Musa Liman had adjourned ruling on the bail bail application till Thursday after hearing arguments from Sowore’s Counsel, Marshall Abubakar, and the prosecution Counsel for the Nigerian Police Force, Udey Jonathan.
Abubakar had prayed the Court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
In the charge, the Activist is accused of using his verified X handle account, ‘Omoyele Sowore,’ to post a tweet against the Inspector General of Police, calling him “illegal IGP Kayode Egbetokun.” The Police allege that the statement is false and intended to incite a breakdown of law and order.
Sowore has however pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The Court has adjourned to April 8, 2025 for commencement of trial.
