APC Gives Reason For Suspending Senator Utazi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has offered an explanation for suspending Senator Chukwuka Utazi who joined the party from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) less than a year ago.

At a stakeholders’ meeting in Enugu, the state capital, the party leadership says Utazi was suspended because the party has zero tolerance for those it calls “political moles” involved in activities deemed contrary to the party’s renewed direction.

The APC notes that the action was intended to send a clear message, especially to new entrants, that the party is now more organized, sanitized, and strategically positioned to play its role as a vibrant opposition in the state.

Utazi, a two-term federal lawmaker who represented Enugu North Senatorial district is yet to respond to AIT enquiries on alleged anti-party activities levelled against him by his Nkpologu ward and the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area chapter of the party.

The meeting also witnessed the formal reception of new members from various political parties into the APC fold as the party continues its rebranding efforts.
