Army, police intercept bandits in Katsina, rescue 30 abducted persons

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with the Police, have intercepted armed bandits in Katsina State, rescuing 30 abducted persons and recovering 94 rustled animals after a fierce gun battle.
This was revealed in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his X handle on Wednesday.
The successful operation took place in Tafoki Village, Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina.
According to intelligence sources cited by Makama, the heavily armed bandits had stormed Unguwar Sarkin Fulani, Dutsen Dadi, in the early hours of March 12, 2025, abducting residents and rustling two cows and 92 sheep and goats.
“Upon receiving the distress call, troops, in collaboration with the Police, swiftly mobilized and laid an ambush along the suspected escape route of the bandits,” the post stated.
As the criminals attempted to cross into the fringes of Tafoki village, they were met with heavy gunfire, forcing them to flee into the bush with undisclosed casualties.
“All 30 kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt, and all rustled animals were successfully recovered,” the report added.
