Bandits Abduct Catholic Priest in Kaduna Community

A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, has been abducted by armed bandits in the early hours of Thursday in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Fr. Amos, who serves as the Parish Priest of St. Gerald Quasi Parish, was reportedly taken from his residence at approximately 12:15 a.m., according to a statement released by the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan.

The statement, signed by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

The Diocese called for calm among parishioners and the general public, urging them not to take the laws into their own hands.

It also appealed for prayers for the priest’s safe and swift return.

As at the time of this report, neither the kidnappers’ identity nor their demands have been confirmed. Also, the security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the abduction.
