Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed his administration’s commitment to operating the e-government system in the state, as part of efforts to address ghost workers’ syndrome, mismanagement of resources, and block leackages, for the economic development of the state.
The governor indicated the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Bauchi State government and Galaxy Backbone Limited, held at the Government House, Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
As the world has been transformed into a global village, through the use of Information, Communication, and Technology, (ICT), Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed says, embracing ICT in governance, would serve as a key to promoting transparency and accountability in government, for effective service delivery.
Governor Bala Mohammed said, that with the signing of the MoU, the state can stand to benefit from various opportunities that will assist in boosting socioeconomic development, and provide job opportunities to the teeming unemployed citizens of the state, to enable them to become self-reliant.
He assured that all the support to realize the actualization of the project within the shortest possible time would be made.
The Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone Limited, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, who led some principal staff of the agency, said the aim is to make Bauchi State the pearl of ICT in the North East subregion and Nigeria as a whole.
