The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU members of Sa’adu Zungur University in Bauchi state North-East Nigeria have declared what they describe as total comprehensive, and indefinite strike to press home their demands.
The development was made known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the Chairman, Auwal Hussaini and the Secretary, Yahaya Yakubu after a meeting held on Friday, November 29 at the Yuli campus of the university over lack of readiness and commitment of the authorities to attend to the lingering issues.
The statement directed members of the union to embark on a total, comprehensive, and indefinite strike until further notice. This pronouncement implies that activities such as teaching, marking, meetings, accreditations, and any other activity related to academic staff are suspended indefinitely according to the statement.
