At least 34 persons have now been confirmed killed following an attack in which a Saudi national drove a car at high speed into a crowd at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, about 130 kilometres west of Berlin, the German capital.
The suspect has been identified as Talib Al-Abdulmohsen, and is wanted by Saudi Arabia for terrorism and smuggling of girls to Europe, but Germany granted him political asylum and refused extradition despite the charges.
