Doors Shut as Embattled Governor Fubara Attempts To Re-present 2025 Budget to Assembly

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara could not re- present the 2025 appropriation bill to the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday.

The governor who arrived at the Aba Road quarters, where the lawmakers have been holding their sittings, could not gain access to the premises.

There was no one to receive him, and the security guards at the gates were also nowhere to be found.

The Governor and the Amaewhule led Assembly have been in a cat and mouse game since the judgement of the Supreme Court ordering the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Attorney General of the Federation to suspend the payment of Rivers Statutory allocation.

The Governor had invited the members of the Assembly for a peace talk which was spurned by the legislative arm while Governor Fubara could not meet up with the 48hours ultimatum given by the House of Assembly for the representation of the 2025 Budget
