Ebonyi PDP, Nominates Party’s Zonal Youth Leader To Replace Expelled South East National Vice Chairman

The Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oguduokwor ward and stakeholders of the Ebonyi State chapter of the major opposition Party have nominated current South East Zone Youth leader Chidiebere Egwu to take over as substantive the National Vice Chairman of PDP, South East Zone. 

A letter addressed to the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, National Secretary of PDP,  and the Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum, whose copy was sighted by ait.live, states that Egwu’s nomination is to serve out the tenure of Ali Odefa, who was suspended and further expelled from the Party.   

Recall that a recent judgment of the Federal High Court in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria, on 29th November 2024, affirmed the suspension of Ali Odefa from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his subsequent expulsion from the Party on 12th December 2024 by the Executive Committee of PDP Oguduokwor Ward.    

The letter to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP by the Executive Committee of PDP Oguduokwor ward, Elders Committee and Stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State chapter said the Organs met and unanimously nominated Chidiebere Egwu as the substantive National Vice Chairman of PDP for the South East Zone.  

Chidiebere Egwu, until his nomination for the position, is the incumbent Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South East Zone. He was a former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ikwo LGA, former Youth Leader of Ebonyi State chapter of the PDP, and a former Special Adviser to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Security and also on Youth Empowerment.
