Edo Gov’ship Election : Petition Tribunal Adjourns Hearing On PDP Suit To Jan 17

The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned hearing on PDP’s suit to January 17 to enable parties inspect and verify electoral documents as presented by the party before they are tendered as evidence.

Present at the hearing in Benin City was the Deputy Governor of the State, Dennis Idahosa, governorship candidate of the PDP, Asue Ighodalo, stalwarts of his party, APC Chieftains among others.

The Petition Tribunal led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi commences sitting with key players available to participate and observe the day’s proceedings.

The Accord party and its governorship candidate, Bright Enabulele has some witnesses testify against the APC.

For the Peoples Democratic Party, what is described as certified true copies of electoral documents are brought forward to be tendered as admissible evidence.

This leads to the tribunal calling on each party to nominate representatives for immediate verification of the documents.The Governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo is optimistic that the verdict at the end of the day will be favourable.

Ighodalo uses the opportunity to react to reports of sporadic shootings by a hoodlum close to the venue of the tribunal.

The case brought before the tribunal against the APC and Governor Monday Okpebholo by the PDP will be up for hearing again on January 17.
