Nasarawa State Police Command has deployed over 4,000 personnel, including undercover operatives, to ensure public safety during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations across the 13 local government areas in the state.
A statement by the command’s spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, says security will be strengthened at all prayer grounds and recreational centers throughout the festive period.
Nansel said the Commissioner of Police, Shettima Jauro has directed the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit to conduct thorough pre-prayer sweeps at all Eid grounds to ensure a secure environment for worshippers.

He also noted that traffic wardens have been strategically positioned along major roads to facilitate smooth traffic flow, while the command’s tactical teams will conduct highway patrols to enhance the safety of travelers.
Nansel said the police boss urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies for immediate action.
