Enugu: Atiku calls for inquiry into tanker explosions, lament recurring incidents

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has called on the government to establish an inquiry into the recurring incidents of fuel tanker explosions following the recent explosion in Enugu State that claimed multiple lives.
He described the recurring explosion as an emergency to be acted upon.
Taking to his official X handle on Saturday, Atiku lamented the frequency of such incidents and called for urgent government action.
“Oh dear, not again! My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of all the victims in the fuel tanker explosion in Enugu State. May their souls find eternal rest,” he said.
“The incidents of tragic tanker explosions have reached emergency levels. It is time for the government to establish an inquiry into this issue,” he added.
Recall that last week in Niger state, a similar explosion killed 98 and injured dozens.
