Former Newcastle United striker, Alan Shearer has rated Chelsea’s chances of competing for the Premier League title against the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City this upcoming new season.
Recall that Chelsea finished in the Premier League top four last season behind the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer backed the Blues to challenge for the title this term.
Asked if Enzo Maresca’s side can compete for the title this season, the Englishman replied: “I do, yeah.
“I don’t think they are finished in terms of their transfer business. I think there will be more come in and go out as well.
“Yeah, I do. I think they have been very smart in who they are signing and they have made some clever ones and I think there will be more.
“So I think they will [challenge for the Premier League], absolutely. They will build on what they have achieved this season, Conference League, qualifying for the Champions League and they will go again.”
