FCT police command denies sealing PDP Secretariat

The FCT Police Command has denied claims made by members of a faction of the PDP that its officers sealed off the headquarters of its party. A faction of the PDP had planned to hold its Board of Trustees BoT meeting earlier today at the party secretariat but were prevented by security officers who stormed the premises in the early hours of today. In a statement released, FCT command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adehy, said contrary to reports, its officers did not seal the headquarters of the party in Wuse Zone 5,  According to her, police were drafted to the secretariat to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.The Command wishes to categorically state that this information is false, misleading, and does not reflect the true situation on ground. Police officers were only deployed to the venue to maintain law and order and ensure public safety in line with their constitutional mandate.
