Primary school teachers and Area Council Workers under the joint unions of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NIT) and Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) protested on the streets of Abuja, on Thursday, April 24. The demonstration was over non-payment of their minimum wage and other entitlements by the six area councils chairmen of the FCT. The protesters carried a banner on which their demands were printed. It read: “Implement #10,000 minimum wage with arrears in the six area councils in Abuja now. “Implement & pay arrears of our 40% peculiar allowance now.” They also carried placards. See below.  The post FCT primary school teachers protest non-payment of entitlement appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
