The Federal Government has directed the immediate restoration of power to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan which had been disconnected from the national grid for over 100 days.
The Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, visited the teaching hospital alongside the Managing Director of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) describing the situation as embarrassing.
However, he attributed the accumulation of unpaid bills to fraud and illegality by other institutions that allegedly tapped into UCH’s power supply.
