Former NADECO Sec-Gen Wants Speedy Return To ‘True Federalism’

Former Secretary General of National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), Ayo Opadokun says Nigeria, as a matter of urgency, must return to federal constitutional governance upon which it secured its independence.

Opadokun said this during the 2024 Christmas Carol Service in Offa, Kwara State where he maintained that principally, the British colonial masters who came uninvited ought to be blamed for Nigeria’s economic problems.

Opadokun who described British colonialism as the most perverted system of governance ever, said the lasting legacy President Bola Tinubu could give to Nigerians in 2025 is by returning the country to Federal Constitutional governance which he said will provide responsible and responsive government.

On the tax reform bills presented by President Tinubu, Opadokun described the proposed legislation as a step in the right direction for the good of all Nigerians.

He however maintained that the socio-economic challenges facing the country are the outcome of over three decades of military dictatorship which was made worse by the civilian successors.
