Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, following an increase by the State House of Assembly from the initial 498 billion naira to 538 billion naira.
The 40 billion naira increment reflects the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of citizens, ensuring every sector was adequately captured.
At a brief ceremony held at the Governor’s Office, Governor Otu described the budget, themed the “Budget of Sustainable Growth,” as a roadmap for addressing the needs of the citizens and delivering on his administration’s promises.
The 2025 budget highlights allocations across key sectors, including infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, tourism, aviation, and science and technology, all aimed at driving economic growth and development.
