Gregory University condemns killing of Chinese expatriates in Abia

The management of Gregory University, Uturu, Abia State, has addressed concerns about the safety of its students and staff, declaring that they are safe.
The university was reacting to the recent killing of two Chinese expatriates and their police escort at Amaya Ndudu by unknown armed men.
In a statement signed by Sleek Ogwo, the Deputy Registrar, the school condemned the killings and urged security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Parts of the statement read, “We assure the public, particularly parents and guardians, that the security of our university community remains our top priority.
“Given the significant distance between Ndundu and our location in Amaokwe Achara, Uturu, where the University is situated on a 100-hectare site, we are confident in the safety of our students and staff.”
The school management said it was collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure the security and well-being of the university community even as it condoled the bereaved families, the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria and the Inspector General of Police.
