Group Urges Gov. Alia To Appoint An Indigene As Provost College Of Education, Oju

A social cultural group under the auspices of Igede Youth Council has called on the Benue state Governor Hyacinth Alia to consider appointing an indigenous academia as the shubstantive Provost of the College of Education, Oju.

The leadership of the group made the call during a press briefing held in Makurdi, the Benue state Capital.

A sense of inclusion in the decision to appoint a substantive provost for the college of education in Oju local government area of the State is one amongst other pleas by the socio-cultural pressure group known as the Igede youth council.

They also want the State Governor to look into the of issue of age requirements for candidates in line with the regulations of the National commission for colleges of education.

The Pressure Group said it is not necessarily asking for special treatment but demanding fairness and equal opportunities as a minority tribe.
