Gunmen abduct Road Safety Corps Inspector in Benue State

Armed men have abducted an inspector of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Nathaniel Terwanger Kumashe in Benue State, North-Central Nigeria.

The incident which was confirmed to AIT.live by his uncle who is a former Special Adviser to Benue State Governor on Transportation, Chief Yimam Aboh occurred on Wednesday night, March 19 at about 10pm.

The armed men who fired gunshots to scare his family members and neighbours abducted the victim from his country home in Tse Aboh, Uchi-Mbakor in Tarka LGA as he returned to his house from the wake-keep of his late cousin who is to be buried this Thursday.

Youths in the entire community immediately launched a search throughout the night but the gunmen were fast gone. Chief Aboh said personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC joined in the search operation and the police have visited the community after the incident.

Reports however indicate that he may have been moved to one of the kidnappers hideouts in neighbouring Guma LGA of the State.
