Suspected kidnappers have abducted seven travellers along the Owo-Ipele axis of the Owo-Benin highway in Ondo State.  It was gathered that the gunmen attacked the commercial bus at midnight over the weekend and whisked the victims into a forest.  The vehicle was later found abandoned by the roadside, prompting other drivers to raise the alarm. Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday said that officers have been deployed to rescue the victims.  Odunlami said the victims were travelling from Akwa Ibom State to the South West before they were kidnapped by the bandits last Friday night. The incident happened on January 31 at about some minutes to 12am in the night. Seven travellers were involved, they were coming from Akwa Ibom State in a commercial bus, she said.  “Our men are already making efforts to rescue the victims from the kidnappers and arrest the perpetrators. The abduction comes shortly after the k!lling of five farmers at Ajegunle Powerline in Akure North Local Government Area.  The post Gunmen kidnap seven travellers in Ondo appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
