Gunmen kill family of five, others in Plateau attacks

Lighitlubang village in Bungha District of Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State, is in mourning following the killing of a family of five by suspected gunmen.
The victims, comprising a man, his wife, their child, and another couple, were reportedly slaughtered during the attack.
Tension remains high in the area as the gunmen extended their onslaught to other parts of the local government.
A source told The Guardian that “From Monday, January 27 till this Saturday, February 1st, no fewer than 10 people were cruelly murdered by the same suspected militia. It was confirmed by the police who witnessed the attacks in Mangu.”
Residents are appealing for increased security to protect the community from further violence.
Efforts to reach the Plateau State Police Command for comments were unsuccessful when this report was filed.
