High Cost Of Living : PWDs In Kano Call For Appointment Of Minister Of Humanitarian Affairs

Members of the All-Progressives Congress who are living with various forms of disabilities and special needs in Kano State have called on president Bola Tinubu, to urgently appoint a minister for the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to address their concerns especially, during these hard economic times.

Chairman of the group Yahaya Yahaya, who addressed a news conference in Kano state on Wednesday, specifically called on the President to consider appointing Doctor Halimat- Adenike Tejuosho, whom he said has over the years engaged in various forms of social works.

According to the group, Halimat Tejuosho’s experience in working with people with disabilities over the years, makes her the right personality to take over from where the former minister stopped.

They are worried that at a time that the price of fuel has increased and Nigerians are faced with hardship, people with disabilities are more disadvantaged as not having a minister to address their welfare will compound their problem.

This is the second time within three months that these people with special needs are calling for the appointment of a substantive minister for the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation which they say is critical to the APC led government.
