Hoodlums kill motorcyclist, steal bike in Abuja

A gang of hoodlums in the Zuba area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has reportedly killed a commercial motorcycle rider after hitting him with a hammer on his head.
The 23-year-old deceased, Mubarak Abdullahi, a resident of neigbouring Madalla town in Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State, was said to have been attacked by the gang around 5am.
Narrating the incident, the deceased’s younger brother, Bello Abdullahi said, “I was alerted to the incident by a neighbour that my brother was seen lying around Nitel-Pole road and I immediately rushed to the scene around 7 am.
“I took him to a clinic in Madalla with the assistance of other people. He was attended to by the health officials on duty before he died later in the night.’’
According to Daily Trust, a resident, who simply gave his name as Bala, described the Nitel road that linked Zuba and neigbouring Madalla town as notorious for criminals, who often attack commercial motorcyclists as well as pedestrians anytime from 8 pm to 6 am of the following day.
Meanwhile, the police in the area said the incident was not reported at the station.
