“I dont want to be sent back to Nigeria” journalist who fled to UK “after claiming he was being targeted by Nigerian authorities” cries out as he faces deportation

A Nigerian journalist has revealed that he is facing deportation from the United Kingdom if he doesn’t leave in 9 days. Ibezim Nnamdi Emmanuel, publisher of  Reportera News, said he’s been given till October 31 to leave the UK and return to Nigeria. However, he claimed that he and his family “were treated very unjustly” and he is “being targeted” in Nigeria over news he published on his website in August 2023. He fled to the UK after publishing the report. Subsequently, he says he fell victim to a Nigerian who collected all his money and failed to procure the necessary documents he needs to stay in the UK. He now faces deportation but says his life “will be in jeopardy” if he returns to Nigeria. “If you dont hear from me by the end of November, then I may have been deported to Nigeria and most likely arrested by Nigerian authorities,” he wrote on X. He added: Let this therefore serve as an SOS in advance. The post “I dont want to be sent back to Nigeria” journalist who fled to UK “after claiming he was being targeted by Nigerian authorities” cries out as he faces deportation appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
