Dele Farotimi, a human rights advocate, has expressed resilience in the face of his ongoing legal battles over alleged defamation. Farotimi, who was released from a correctional facility in Ekiti State on December 24 after meeting his bail conditions, is facing a 14-count charge, including allegations of criminal defamation. The activist pleaded not guilty to the charges. The allegations stem from claims that Farotimi criminally defamed Afe Babalola, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), in his book titled Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System. In a statement shared on his X page on Thursday, Farotimi wrote in cryptic but defiant terms.
