An Ibadan Chief Magistrate Court presided over by Olabisi Ogunkanmi has remanded Naomi Silekunola, the organizer of the event that led to a tragic stampede incident that left 35 children dead in custody at the Agodi Correctional Centre.
Also remanded were popular broadcaster and Media partner, Oriyomi Hamzat, as well as the Principal of the school where the event took place.Â
The case was adjourned to January 13, 2025, as the Court said it lacked jurisdiction to hear matter, but directed that case be sent to the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), while the defendants will remain in in custody.
Counsel to the school Principal, Waheed Olajide, told Journalists that the Court ordered the defendants to be held in custody pending the transfer of the case to a higher court. Â
