Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has authorized the deployment of 54 patrol vehicles and motorcycles to strengthen military efforts against insurgents in New Marte, located in Marte Local Government Area.
During his visit to New Marte, the governor assessed the security situation and discussed plans for resettling displaced residents.
The approved support package consists of four Buffalo Toyota pickup trucks, 50 operational motorcycles, and surveillance tools aimed at enhancing the military’s capabilities in counterinsurgency operations against Boko Haram.
Governor Zulum expressed appreciation for the military’s tireless efforts in restoring peace to the region.
He commended their dedication and sacrifices, emphasizing that their commitment has contributed to the gradual return of stability.
On his way back from Marte, Zulum made a stop in Dikwa, where he inspected key construction projects, including the High Islamic College, Dikwa General Hospital, and semi-permanent housing for returning displaced persons.
