Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has given financial support to 1,000 women across the state as a way of empowering them to be self-reliant.
Governor Aiyedatiwa made this announcement today in celebration of 2025 International Women’s Day in Akure, the state capital.
The governor used the occasion to affirm his administration’s gender equality policy and inclusiveness.

Various speakers, including the first female Secretary to the State Government, Oladunni Odu encouraged women to be bold, resilient, and proactive in pursuing leadership roles and economic independence.
Cheques for the financial empowerment were later presented to representatives of various women groups.
