Jay-Z aggressively trying to expose identity of woman who’s accused him of r@pe, lawyer Tony Buzbee claims

Houston-based attorney, Tony Buzbee has claimed Jay-Z is aggressively trying to expose the identity of his client who’s accused him of r@pe. Buzbee, who is representing the woman who says Jay-Z and Diddy s3xually ass@ulted her after the MTV Video Music Awards in September of 2000, had made the complaints about the rapper, 55, in a letter to the Southern District of New York. The attorney said he was speaking on behalf of his client Jane Doe, himself, and his law firm ‘in response to several recent improper communications directed to the’ court by Jay-Z’s legal team. After his client named Jay-Z in her lawsuit Sunday, Buzbee said, his ‘firm filed a renewed motion for the plaintiff to proceed anonymously.’ According to Mail Online, Buzbee said that Jay-Z breached professional protocols ‘rather than merely oppose that motion,’ as on Monday, he filed ‘his own “motion” to deny anonymity’ to his accuser ‘and/or to dismiss under Rule 12(b)(1).’ Jay-Z’s filing was ‘procedurally improper and substantively deficient,’ Buzbee said, adding he felt it was structured as a ‘pretext’ for his legal team to submit two ‘letter briefs’ to the court. Buzbee described the ‘letter briefs’ as nothing short of defamation hiding behind the thinnest veneer of litigation privilege. Buzbee said the ‘letter briefs’ have no substance as to whether or not his client should be publicly identified, aside from ‘one sentence requesting an expedited hearing.’ The attorney said that the letter from Jay-Z’s legal team presented ‘otherwise irrelevant contentions’ that he described as ‘press releases dressed as legal filings’ amid the high-profile legal battle. He said that a letter submitted by Jay-Z’s attorneys went ‘entirely too far’ in accusing him and his associates ‘of outright unethical behaviour that never happened;’ and will be responded to via legal channels moving forward. Buzbee said he has ‘actual evidence’ Jay-Z’s legal team has engaged in ‘outright illegal conduct,’ and was flagging the issues to the court in Tuesday’s letter. Buzbee’s lawsuit against Jay-Z is part of a series of civil cases he has filed against Combs, 55, who remains jailed in New York as he awaits trial on federal charges that he coerced and abused women for years. Jay-Z said the lawsuit against him is part of an extortion attempt; on Sunday, he issued a statement in which he accused Buzbee of trying to blackmail him by getting him to agree to a legal settlement over allegations he and Combs r@ped a woman when she was 13 years old. ‘I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over,’ Jay-Z said in his statement. You claim to be a marine? Marines are known for their valour, you have neither honour nor dignity. Buzbee said in a Sunday Facebook post he ‘won’t be bullied or intimidated,’ adding, Sunlight is the best disinfectant and I am quite certain the sun is coming. Buzbee, who has won billions of dollars in settlements for his clients, has said his firm is representing more than 150 people, both men and women, who allege s3xual abuse and exploitation at the hands of Combs.  The post Jay-Z aggressively trying to expose identity of woman who’s accused him of r@pe, lawyer TonyBuzbeeclaims appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
