Kano Emirate Tussle: State Govt. Hails Appeal Court Ruling, Sues For Peace

Kano State Government has expressed satisfaction with Friday’s Court of Appeal judgment on Kano Emirate Council legal dispute.

At a news conference held on Saturday at the NUJ Press Centre in Kano, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Haruna Dederi said the state is pleased with the ruling and called on warring parties to support reforms of the state on the traditional institution.

Dederi called for compliance from all parties involved in the interest of peace in the state.

It was a joint briefing involving the state ministries of justice, information and that of local government and chieftaincy affairs with chairmen from the forty-four local government areas and other top government functionaries on ground.
