The ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP in Kano State has won all 44 Local Government Chairmanship seats and all 484 Councillors seats in the Local Government Election held on Saturday.
The Chairman, Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC, Professor Sani Malumfashi who announced the results at the commission’s headquarters said six political parties participated in the election.
After Saturday’s election across the forty-four local government areas of the state, results were cleared at various local government and ward collation centers.

Chairman of the Kano State Independent electoral commission, Professor Sani Malumfashi says six political parties participated in the polls, although the opposition APC did not.
Professor Malunfashi says the ruling NNPP won all the Chairmanship and Councillorship positions.
Kano State Local Government election took place amidst several legal battles against the process, one coming on the eve of the election, however, the Kano state high court judgement gave a go ahead for the election to hold.
