Kano Police Launch “Operation Kukan Kura”,Arrest Suspects, Recover Exhibits

The Kano State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in its sustained efforts to rid the state of crimes and criminality.

The command’s Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, disclosed this during a press briefing, held at the Bompai Police Headquarters in Kano.

He said the Command has launched a special operation tagged “Operation Kukan Kura,” which aims to detect and proactively nip in the bud, any threats of thuggery-related crimes, banditry, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and other social vices in the state.

CP Bakori noted that the operation, which was launched on July 1, 2025, has already recorded significant successes, with 98 suspects arrested and various exhibits recovered.

He added that the command has arrested a total of 98 suspects involved in 21 major cases of armed robbery, thuggery, drug dealing, theft, fraud, and other crimes.

The exhibits recovered from the suspects include 6 vehicles, 8 tricycles, 9 motorcycles, 42 tubes of red solution, and 35 parcels of suspected cannabis.
