Katsina state govt declares today public holiday to mourn Buhari

The Katsina state government has declared Monday July 14 a work-free day to allow residents mourn the de@th of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away in a UK clinic on Sunday evening, July 13. The Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, disclosed this. The state governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, also expressed his profound condolences to Buharis family, the people of Katsina, and the entire nation. He described the former president as a great leader, a hero, a true democrat, and a patriotic elder statesman whose life was dedicated to the service of Nigeria. Governor Radda also offered prayers, asking Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant mercy to Buharis soul, forgive his shortcomings, and reward his noble deeds with Aljannatul Firdaus. Buhari’s remains is expected back to Nigeria today and will be buried in Daura, his hometown in Katsina state. The post Katsina state govt declares today public holiday to mourn Buhari appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
