Kebbi Government Supports Women Entrepreneurs With N50 Million

50 million Naira has been donated to support women who engage in small and medium scale enterprises, (SMEs) across Kebbi State.

The wife of the governor, Nafisa Idris, made the presentation during the 6th Edition of ‘Kebbi Business Expo Week,’ held in Birnin Kebbi.

Nafisa said the initiative aligns with the Kebbi State Government’s commitment to empower women, enhance their socio-economic contributions, and support their families during their challenging economic times.

She adds that small businesses can significantly improve the lives of women and their families, and encourages the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously to grow sustainable ventures.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Halima Kamba, similarly urged women entrepreneurs to register with the Ministry of Women Affairs, to access state and federal government empowerment programmes.

One of the beneficiaries, Bilkisu Haliru, expressed gratitude for the initiative, and called on Governor Nasir Idris and his wife to sustain their support for women, recognising their critical role in society.
