Kebbi Govt sets up committee to investigate Health Sciences College riot

The Kebbi State government has set up a committee to investigate the remote causes of students’ disturbances at the College of Health Science Jega.

Last week, the students burned down the house of the provost and severely damaged his car in a violent protest over non accreditation of courses in the institution.

Briefing Journalist on the outcome of the weekly meeting of the state executive council in Birnin Kebbi, Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi said the Committee has two weeks to report back to the government.

The eight member committee is to investigate the cause of the riot and the role played by major actors to quantify damage done to property and recommend ways to prevent a recurrenc
