Kebbi: Three policemen die in gun fight with Lakurawa terrorists

Lakurawa terrorists has killed three police officers in Kebbi State.
Confirming the killing in a statement, Kebbi Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar said a combined team of policemen engaged the Lakurawa terrorists in a fierce gun duel while they were attempting to attack commuters plying Zogirma/Tilli road.
The Command said it lost three men, while several terrorists were neutralized. Others escaped to the nearby forest with fatal injuries.
Abubakar added that the Zogirma Divisional Police Officer promptly mobilised a team of policemen and rushed to the scene with reinforcement from No 36 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Birnin Kebbi, but the bandits fled before their arrival
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M Sani, while commending the resilience, bravery and sacrifice of the dead officers, prayed for eternal rest for their souls.
He called on residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
