Kidnapped Students Of J. S. Tarka University Released

The kidnapped female students of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi, JoSTUM, formally Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, FUAM, have been released by their abductors after about nine days in captivity.

The Benue state police Command through its spokeperson Sewuese Anene disclosed this in a press statement revealing that following a continuous trail on the kidnappers the were forced to release the victims who are currently receiving medical attention at Benue state university Teaching Hospital, Makurdi.

She said investigation is ongoing, as the Commissioner of Police, Benue state command, Steve Yabanet appreciated all officers that made the release possible, particularly the IGP Intelligence Response Team from Abuja and other security agencies in the state.

The students were kidnapped on the 25th of last month within the school premises.
