The Lagos State Commissioner for Water and Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, has dismissed claims that the state is smelling,  Some persons have repeatedly argued that the state which is the Center of Excellence, in Nigeria, smells. Disputing this claim, Wahab in a statement released this evening, argued that Lagos does not smell but rather, is evolving. He wrote;The Lagos State Government is fully committed to environmental sustainability and has developed a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach to ensure a clean, resilient, and livable city. Waste and sanitation challenges in a rapidly growing megacity like Lagos require structural solutionsnot soundbites or political rhetorics.   Lagos is not smelling; Lagos is evolvingtoward sustainable waste processing, modernized landfill management, cleaner waterways, and structured sanitation systems. The @followlasg remained steadfast in its commitment to building a cleaner, more sustainable city through strategic environmental initiatives. One of the key areas of focus has been waste management, with efforts to decommission landfills, improve sanitation enforcement, and transition towards waste-to-energy solutions.
