Lagos LG Election: APC’s Olasoju wins Isolo LCDA

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, has declared the incumbent Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, as the winner of Saturday’s chairmanship election.
Running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Olasoju, alongside his Deputy, Shakir Sadiq Adeola, emerged victorious with a commanding lead over his rivals.
According to the Electoral Officer, Olasumbo Sogunle-Muniru, Olasoju secured 22,331 votes, defeating his closest contenders, Ladi Shonubi of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who garnered 1,144 votes, and Fasasi of the Labour Party, LP, who polled 864 votes.
The election, which initially witnessed a slow start due to low turnout, saw a steady rise in voter participation as residents came out later in the day to cast their ballots.
Councillorship Election Results
All seven APC councillorship candidates were also returned elected across the LCDA’s wards:
Jamiu Ajose (Alagbeji Ward): 2,442 votes
Akeem Azeez (Alagbeji): 3,426 votes
Adeolu Ikugbayigbe (Ajao Estate Ward): 1,502 votes
Nofisat Shobayo-Lawal (Ilasamaja Ward): 4,102 votes
Hon. Idris Babatunde Amusa (Akinbaiye Ward): Re-elected with 4,328 votes
Oni Yusuf (Ishagatedo/Ire-Akari Ward): 3,297 votes
Kehinde Ajala (Apena Ward): 2,291 votes
