Liverpool To Face Tottenham In EFL Cup Semi-Finals

Tottenham Hotspur survived a desperate Manchester United comeback to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Thursday with a 4-3 victory in a chaotic encounter

The Ange Postecoglou’s side were leading against a lacklustre United with Dominic Solanke’s double and a goal from Dejan Kulusevski putting them 3-0 up after 54 minutes.

But the home crowd were left in shock as two terrible mistakes by goalkeeper Fraser Forster allowed substitutes Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo to give United hope.but Tottenham fought back to carry the day

After the encounter the semi finals draws were held with defending champions Liverpool to Face off against Tottenham, while Arsenal will face Newcastle.

Premier League leaders Liverpool, who have won the cup competition a record 10 times, will face Spurs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the first leg before the return at Anfield.

Arsenal will play Newcastle at Emirates Stadium in the first leg of their tie before the second leg at St James’ Park.

The draw also sets up an interesting possibility of a north London derby in the final of the competition.

Spurs and Arsenal have never met in a major domestic final but have faced each other four times previously in the League Cup semi-finals, in 1968, 1987, 2007 and 2008.

The first legs of the semi-final will be played in the week of 6 January 2025, while the second legs will be in the week beginning from 3 February.

Wembley Stadium will host the final on 16 March.
