Magnitude 5.6 earthquake hits Afghanistan

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on Wednesday struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, EMSC, made this known.
According to the EMSC, the quake occurred at a depth of 121 kilometres (75 miles), with the epicentre 164 kilometres east of Baghlan, a city of around 108,000 people.
EMSC had first reported the quake at a magnitude of 6.4, and later revised it to 5.6.
DAILY POST reports that the earthquake on Wednesday was among the series of tremors that hit Asian regions in recent days.
