Man commits suicide in Ogun

A man identified as Fatai Hamzat has committed suicide in Abeokuta, Ogun State. It was gathered that Hamzat hung himself in his apartment on Oremeji Street, Ijeun Tuntun on Friday morning, November 29, 2024.  Neighbours discovered Hamzats body around 7am.  I had just returned from church when I noticed Azeezs motorcycle parked in the compound. I went to check on him, but his door was locked from the inside, a neighbour told the police. After repeated knocking with no response from Hamzat, neighbours forced open a window. Inside the apartment, they allegedly found Hamzats body hanging from a rope tied to the ceiling fan. The spokesperson for the state police command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident on Saturday stated that the body was taken to a nearby hospital morgue for an autopsy. The deceased was found hanging in his apartment after several attempts to reach him failed.
