Man hacks his 71-year-old mother to d3ath with machete in Akwa Ibom

A man identified as Alexander Ben Peter has been arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for the murder of his mother, Mrs. Atiny Ben Peter, age 71.  The suspect hacked his mother to d3ath with a machete in the Oruk Anam Local Government Area of the state.   The State Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, who disclosed this on Thursday, June 19, 2025 during a press briefing at the police headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, said the command arrested a total of 54 criminal suspects and recovered a minimum of 50 arms and ammunition within the last six weeks.  According to the CP, Peter was arrested on June 10, even as the investigation is ongoing to unravel the remote cause of the crime. The gruesome incident occurred in Ikot Inyang Village, Oruk Anam Local Government Area, where the suspect reportedly used the machete to hack his mother to d3ath,” the Commissioner stated.  The Command is working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the motive behind the heinous crime.”  The post Man hacks his 71-year-old mother to d3ath with machete in Akwa Ibom appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
